Can I use Autism Funding for children under 6?
Our SLP, OT and BCBA are led by supervisors on RASP list, so your child is able to use Autism Funding.
Where does the therapy take places?
Therapy services are offered in various settings depending on the type of service. For speech-language pathology (SLP) and Occupational Therapy (OT) services, we mostly provide in-clinic options. Most of our clients receiving behavioral services choose in-home sessions. For counseling services, sessions are held either in our office in Metrotown/Surrey Central or virtually, offering flexibility to meet your needs.
What if i need to cancel or reschedule my session?
If you need to cancel or reschedule your session, there is no charge if you notify us at least two days in advance. For cancellations due to illness, you can cancel without charge up to one day in advance. However, if you cancel with less notice than that, the standard charges will apply.
Can I help my child to use the fundings to buy toys, books or assistive devices ?
If your child is utilizing Autism Funding, you can use the funds to purchase toys, books, or assistive devices. These items should be based on the clinician’s recommendation, while parents are encouraged to express their specific needs as well. The clinician will assist in completing the JFE form and submit it to the autism unit on your behalf.
Do I need to be present in my child’s sessions?
You are not required to be present for therapy sessions on a regular basis. However, if the clinician considers it would be beneficial, you will be invited to attend. The clinician will also discuss your child’s progress at the end of the session and can provide education and training on how to support them in learning and practicing behavioral or communication skills in various settings, such as at home, in school, and within the community.
