Mikhaila is a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) who is dedicated to supporting children in developing their communication skills in a positive and engaging environment. Mikhaila completed her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Language Pathology at the University of Santo Tomas from August 2018 to June 2022, graduating Cum Laude.She began her career as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the Philippines, where she gained clinical experience working with individuals with a range of speech and language needs. Since 2023, she has been practicing as an SLPA in British Columbia.
Mikhaila takes a child-centered approach to therapy, recognizing that every child learns and communicates in their own unique way. She works closely with supervising Speech-Language Pathologists to help deliver individualized therapy that supports speech, language, and overall communication development. Through play-based and interactive activities, she aims to make sessions enjoyable while helping children build confidence and functional communication skills.
She values collaboration with families and believes that involving caregivers is an important part of each child’s progress. Mikhaila strives to create a supportive space where children feel comfortable, motivated, and understood. She remains committed to ongoing learning as she continues to grow in her role within the field of speech-language therapy.
